The speaker was Dr. Alton B. Pollard III. He was a very influential and motivational speaker who spoke on youth advocacy. His speech was focused on how the youth of today are the civil rights activist of this generation and we pave the way for the future. He touched on a couple key hip hop artists who are activist through their words through hip hop and music. Some of which included: Nas, Erykah Badu,Bob Marley,Shakur,Tupac,Jadakiss,Notorious B.I.G and many others. He spoke on how these many artists are advocates through their words of Hip Hop and various other genres. I agreed with his point of views because the youth of today are the activist of this generation. We might not be as radical in our ways but through our actions we do fight for the rights of this nation,whether right or wrong. Dr Alton was a very emotional speaker. He did a great job of keeping the attention of everyone by alluding to our interest in today's society. He touched on today's hip hop artist and alluded to how they are activist as well. In conclusion, his closing was the best segment of the whole presentation. As he played the song "why" by jadakiss, I listened to the words very closely and thought of the different flawed situations and happenings in our generation that happen every single day without a word being said
